Turtle L-System in Cinema 4D

Messed with the L-system in C4D tonight.  Get’s to be a lot more fun once you have a little practice with it.  Came up with this crazy flower like structure.

This probably won’t help anyone interested in learning more about the L-system, but if you want to paste it in or try to read though it ( fun game! ) here’s the commands.

Premise: FFFFFF

Rules: F= ++F++F[-F[+++F++F]F[--F--F[+F[++F++F++F]-F-F[--F--F--F]-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F-F]–F–F–F–F–F]+F++F++F]

Growth: 2           Default Angle: 15deg

I say pasting the code in here won’t help much because for me, the process so far is very progressive.  The nesting can get pretty deep and it’s easy to loose your place.  Can be tricky to find a different location on another branch on a really complex layout.  I’ve found so far it is best to work your way back down and up the branches in the code, matching it to the branches in the visual representation.  Helped me from getting lost at least!  The one below ended up with a pretty long string.  :)

This lonely tree must be in Minnesota somewhere.  Well maybe not, it doesn’t have any snow or ice on it, or look halfway blown over.   :P

Another creation, entitled “wired turtle”.

wired turtle ~ line

wired turtle ~ fill
